2. Do I need to have a book idea to join?
Not at all! This program is designed to help you no matter what stage you're at. You can join with absolutely no idea about what you want to write. We have exercises to brainstorm and draw out your best ideas. Or, you can even join if you've already finished writing your first draft and dive straight into editing, self-publishing, and launching.
3. Is Dream Book Academy™ only for nonfiction?
While the academy is open to ALL genres, most of the "writing" resources are catered toward nonfiction:

4. Are results guaranteed?
We would absolutely love to guarantee results, but your results will be based on the effort and time you put into your book. However, I can confidently say that if you show up and do the work, you WILL have a published book in your hands.
5. Should I self-publish, go hybrid, or traditional?
When you work with me, you will get all the support, accountability and resources you need to self-publish your book. While I am biased toward self-publishing because of creative, financial, and marketing control, we have connections with experts who can help you find a book agent/write your book proposal, or connections with done-for-you services so you can sit back and relax.
6. Do you offer done-for-you publishing services? (Hybrid publishing)
Having worked in both hybrid publishing houses and self-publishing several books, we prefer to give our authors full price and creative control. The cost of done-for-you publishing services will cost $15,000 or more for a high-quality book you're proud of, plus additional mass printing costs (instead of the print-on-demand option). The timeline may also be stretched much longer than desired (I've often seen it take 2+ years). When you choose self-publishing, you get to decide the trajectory of your book and keep 100% of your hard-earned royalties, while gaining confidence and skills that will set you up for success.
7. I want more than the 20,000-word editorial feedback, is this an option?
Yes! If you'd like to submit a higher word-count, simply email us with your word-count and we will send you the rate for the additional work.
8. I've already written my book so I don't need the writing and feedback portion, is there a lower-cost option for me?

9. I'm nervous about joining.
Take a moment to embrace the nervousness instead of resisting it. Ask yourself if it's excitement or a genuine concern. If it's really uncomfortable, maybe it's not the right time or fit. However, if it's mixed with excitement, this is a positive sign. This program could change the entire trajectory of your life. Fear is your body protecting you from the unknown (which is SO normal), but facing it can lead to amazing transformations!
